To promote international exchange, cooperation with the local communities is very important. Fukuhara Gakuen University Consortium Office of International Affairs provides international students with a community-based student acceptance system in which we conduct the guidance for homestay or the tutorials on Japanese life, receiving much support from homestay volunteers and volunteer tutors of our city, Kitakyushu. Also, we have the ‘Christmas Party with International Students’ or the ‘Exchange Event with Japanese Students’ etc., in order to deepen exchange among international students, Japanese students, and people in the community of our city. Moreover, in order to promote international exchange with the local community in a proactive manner, we give international students an opportunity to join the ‘Orio Matsuri,’ which is a festival held in our community, Orio district, Kitakyushu city.
